A driver was killed and another driver injured in a two-vehicle collision on Northern Parkway on Friday morning, according to Baltimore City police.

Police spokeswoman Sgt. Sarah Connolly said that police and emergency personnel responded to an accident on the 4100 block of westbound Northern Parkway and Reisterstown Road that occurred at around 7:25 a.m.

Connolly said that a preliminary investigation revealed that John Malcolm Weems, 48, of Reisterstown, was driving a Dodge Durango southbound on Reisterstown Road when, while intersecting Northern Parkway, the vehicle crossed medians on both Reisterstown Road and Northern Parkway and struck a BMW 328i that was traveling on Northern Parkway. The Dodge Durango flipped on its side. Weems was pronounced dead at 7:49 a.m., Connolly said.

The driver of the other vehicle, Adrienne Wilson Percell, 43, of Pikesville, was transported to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition, Connolly said.

The cause of the crash has not been determined and remains under investigation, Connolly said.
