Two men were wounded in a double shooting in Southwest Baltimore on Monday night, according to police — continuing a streak of city violence that killed eight and wounded at least 12 others over the weekend.
Police responded to a reported shooting in the first block of S. Catherine Street in Shipley Hill about 8:22 p.m. and found one man with a gunshot wound to the right thigh, police said.
The victim told police he and a friend were walking in the area when they were approached by an unknown male who opened fire on them without exchanging words, police said.
The man called police after fleeing the area, police said. He was transferred to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Shortly after, police were notified of a second man who walked into an area hospital with a gunshot wound to the left stomach, police said. It was determined the man was wounded in the same incident, and driven to the hospital by a friend, police said.
His injuries were also considered non-life-threatening, police said.
The double shooting followed a weekend in which 20 people were shot in the city, eight of them fatally, police said.
