A 14-year-old accused of stabbing a classmate to death on school grounds was indicted by a grand jury yesterday on a charge of first-degree murder, according to the city state's attorney's office.
According to court documents, Timothy Oxendine and Markel Williams, 15, had an ongoing dispute. Williams was found stabbed multiple times in his upper body outside William H. Lemmel Middle School, where both had been students, in West Baltimore on Nov. 21. He was later pronounced dead at Sinai Hospital.
It was the city's first killing on school grounds during school hours since 2001.
Oxendine is scheduled to be arraigned on Dec. 23.
