A boy believed to be 14 died last night at Maryland Shock Trauma Center after being shot down on a street in Cherry Hill, city police said.
About 6:30 p.m., Southern District police responding to a report of at least one shot fired in the 800 block of Bethune Road found the boy bleeding from at least one bullet wound to the upper left shoulder. Because of the severity of the wound, homicide detectives were immediately notified.
The name of the boy was withheld pending notification of relatives.
Also yesterday, city police released the names of two 18-year-old men who were killed in separate incidents last week.
On Thursday, Zecariah Hallback was shot while waiting for a bus at E. 33rd Street and The Alameda in Northeast Baltimore. Hallback, who lived in the 3200 block of Noble St. in Southeast Baltimore, died Saturday, police said. Detectives, who suspect that robbery was a motive in the killing, seek the public's help in solving the case.
On Saturday, Willie Joyner was fatally stabbed in a store in the 400 block of E. 25th St. The next day, police arrested and charged Tyrone J. Allsberry, 65, with first-degree murder in connection with Joyner's killing.
A police spokesman said the suspect, who lives in an apartment complex on the block, and the victim had a dispute over money. Joyner lived in the 2800 block of Erdman Ave.
