Three officers in the Baltimore Police Department's homicide unit have been diagnosed with swine flu, though two have been cleared by doctors to return to work, chief spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said. Police officials said they are taking steps to minimize an outbreak, though they caution that officers are constantly interacting with the public. Officials have given all of the roughly 3,100 officers mini hand sanitizers, and each office has hand sanitizer. The homicide office, where more than 70 detectives and support staff work, has been cleaned.
