The USCGC Taney, which fired at Japanese aircraft attacking <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="EVHST0000156" title="Attack on Pearl Harbor (1941)" href="/topic/unrest-conflicts-war/wars-interventions/attack-on-pearl-harbor-%281941%29-EVHST0000156.topic">Pearl Harbor</a>, is the only ship in action that day that is still afloat. A memorial ceremony is planned for today.
