Limited parking available for salute to Phelps at Fort McHenry

Baltimore transportation officials are warning motorists of limited parking near Fort McHenry on Saturday afternoon and evening in anticipation of the Star-Spangled Salute to Michael Phelps. The event is set to begin at 7 p.m., with gates to Fort McHenry opening at 3 p.m. Officials recommend that motorists use a free shuttle bus service from parking lots at M&T Bank Stadium and Orioles Park at Camden Yards, or park at a designated lot on Hull Street. Parking must be reserved for all lots at, and there is a processing fee, officials said. Parking in the Locust Point community will be limited to residents only. The shuttle service will run from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Fort Avenue at Andre Street will be closed starting at 3 p.m., and water taxi service will not be in operation for the event.
