Police were investigating a Friday morning collision involving a Howard Transit bus and a sport utility vehicle carrying carpoolers that closed U.S. 1 at Route 100 for about an hour. About 7 a.m., a GMC Suburban heading north on U.S. 1 hit the side of the bus, which was at a traffic light and turning onto southbound U.S. 1 from Route 100, police said. All five people in the SUV were treated at hospitals for injuries not considered life-threatening. The bus driver and the sole passenger were uninjured, police said.
