Looking under rocks
Scott McGill Jr., principal and stream restoration specialist for Ecotone, looks at aquatic life that has already formed on the underside of rocks. These insects are a food source for fish such as brook and brown trout. This is a newly restored section of a stream off Miller Lane. Ecotone does environmental land restoration. They are restoring two streams off Miller Lane, part of 75 acres they bought in 2006. They've sold forest and wetland credits to developers who need to compensate the state or county for trees and wetlands lost when they develop land elsewhere.
