Jones Falls Expressway at 50
More than 100,000 use Baltimore's central artery, the 9.7-mile Jones Falls Expressway. The highway opened Dec. 16, 1961. It shaped regional development, helping build Lutherville, Timonium and Hunt Valley, but also kept offices and their workers downtown. Read more about Baltimore's main street here.
