"The first time we went up, because of the class I'm teaching, I knew a lot of the basics," Rice said. "When it was time to actually fly, the flight instructor was giving me a little bit of leeway, saying, ‘Go ahead, you can taxi out.' "And the minute we took off, you felt lighter.
