10 of the coldest places in Baltimore [Pictures]
By Tim Swift, The Baltimore Sun
With the summer heat finally at full force, we decided to track down some of the coldest places in Baltimore. Some are open to the public, offering a sweet escape from the oppressive heat, while others are so cold that they're literally impossible to get to.
Where: Baltimore Museum of Art, 10 Art Museum Dr., Baltimore
Cold facts: While in most places the air conditioning is for the benefit of the humans, at the Baltimore Museum of Art the climate controls are for both the guests and the artwork. No one wants Degas' "Little Dancer" to crack at sweat during the muggy Baltimore summer. Museum spokeswoman Anne Mannix-Brown says the museum is kept at a constant 70 degrees and the humidity level is kept at a dry and comfy 50 percent.
