The body of an Anne Arundel County woman found dead on a golf course Wednesday showed signs of hypothermia, an autopsy showed, though an exact cause of death remains unclear, Anne Arundel County police said Thursday.
The State Medical Examiner's Office performed the autopsy on the woman identified Wednesday as Diana Kapnistos Hester, 49, of Arnold. The exact cause of death is pending the results of a toxicology report. No signs of foul play were found in a preliminary investigation.
"We don't believe somebody else played a role in this," Anne Arundel County police spokesman Lt. T.J. Smith said.
Hester's body was discovered around 7:15 a.m. Wednesday by a man walking his dog near the 15th hole tee box on the grounds of the Bay Hills Golf Club.
Attempts to contact Hester's family Wednesday night were unsuccessful.
Police asked that anyone with information about Hester, or who might have who had contact with her since late Monday, contact Detective Shelly Rattell at 410-222-3458.
