Driver sent to shock trauma after I-97 rollover accident

A truck driver was sent to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with non-life threatening injuries Monday morning after the driver's vehicle left southbound Interstate-97 near Route 3 and rolled downhill into an access road below, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department said.

Firefighters and paramedics responded at 9 a.m. to the rollover accident. The driver had already been removed from the truck and the engine compartment was on fire, officials said.

Responders extinguished the fire and transported the driver to shock trauma, officials said.

No road closings or delays will occur as a result of the accident, officials said.
