A male suspect stole a shotgun early Saturday from the Outdoor World Bass Pro Shop in Arundel Mills Mall in a burglary filmed by security cameras, police said.
Anne Arundel County police responding to an alarm at the Outdoor World Bass Pro Shop in the Arundel Mills Mall at 1:48 a.m. Saturday, discovered an unlocked exit door leading into the mall but didn't find evidence of a robbery.
But after reviewing video surveillance footage, a manager reported to police that a male suspect left the store through inside mall doors carrying a shotgun. After checking the shotgun display case, the manger discovered that a lock bar appeared to have been pried open and was bent. Inside, a Beretta shotgun was missing from the case.
Film footage showed the suspect leaving Outdoor World through emergency doors, and exiting the mall through loading docks between the store and Bed Bath & Beyond.
The store and the mall were closed at the time of the burglary.
Police gave the following description of the light complexion male suspect with long sideburns. He appeared to be in his late teens or early 20's, and was wearing a black hooded jacket, dark colored cargo pants, grey or blue tennis shoes and a black Outback western-style brimmed hat. He was also carrying a backpack.
The burglary remains under investigation by county police.
