Maroon sedan sought in Odenton shooting

Maryland Transit Administration

Anne Arundel County Police are looking for a maroon sedan that was used by a man who shot out a window of an Odenton home on Monday night.

On Monday night, someone shot at a home in the 600 block of Cadbury Drive in Odenton. A family of five was home at the time, and a 19-month-old child was injured by shattered glass.

The shooter was seen running away from the home with a shotgun in his hand and the maroon car -- a Mercury Marquis or Ford Crown Victoria with tinted windows -- was also seen speeding from the area, according to police.

Police Chief Kevin Davis said solving the case is a top priority.

"I'm concerned because a two-bit thug walked up to a residential community with a shotgun and fired at a home with a young couple and children," Davis said.

Davis said it's unacceptable "that someone would be so brazen to think that he could terrorize not only this family but this entire community."

Police have increased their patrols in the area, including with officers from the tactical unit. They've been seeking tips in the case through community message boards and social media.

"Somebody knows something about this," Davis said.

Police planned to hold a community meeting on Thursday night to address safety concerns in the neighborhood.

Anyone with information can call the Western District police station at 410-222-6155. Anonymous tips can also be sent to Metro Crime Stoppers by calling 866-7LOCKUP or texting "MCS" plus a message to CRIMES (274637).
