Anne Arundel County police say two juveniles — one 14 years old and the other 11 — were arrested Sunday and charged on juvenile citations related to an attempted armed robbery in Glen Burnie.
Police said at about 1:44 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to the Walmart in the 6700 block of Chesapeake Center Drive and spoke with a woman who said two young males approached her as she was walking on the parking lot. Police said the woman told them one of the juveniles brandished a knife and ordered her to drop her merchandise.
The woman ignored them and continued walking. The suspects then fled through a wooded area. At about 4:09 p.m., the victim called police back to the area of Ritchie Highway and Ordnance Road and said she saw the same two juveniles walking toward the Glen Burnie mall.
Officers found the two males inside a store in the mall and detained them. Upon searching them, police found a knife matching the knife described by the victim. Both were taken into custody and charged on juvenile citations with armed robbery, assault and a weapons charge.
