Anne Arundel County Police say a woman was taken to a hospital Sunday with a "serious" dog bite after trying to stop two pit bulls from attacking her dog.
According to police, on Sunday at about 9:05 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Lincoln Avenue in Glen Burnie and talked to the woman, who said she had been outside walking her dog when two pit bull dogs approached and attacked her pet. While trying to break the dogs apart, the victim sustained a serious bite, police said.
The woman went to a nearby residence and got help. Police said she told them the two dogs that had attacked her pet were called by an unknown person to a vehicle at the end of the street. After the dogs entered the vehicle, it left, police said. There was no description of the vehicle available.
Police said the woman was transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center for treatment of her injuries. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information may call 410-222-8610.
