Anne Arundel County police say a Baltimore teen was assaulted Saturday night while shopping at Arundel Mills mall in Hanover. The incident occurred at about 9:25 p.m., according to police.
A male teen told police that he had been walking inside the mall when a group of six male juveniles passed him. One person in the group exchanged words with the victim and then punched him, according to the police account. When the victim tried to defend himself, the rest of the group surrounded him and assaulted him, police said.
One of the suspects took the victim's merchandise and the group fled on foot. Police officers, with assistance from mall security, were able to locate and arrest three suspects. The others managed to flee, police said.
The victim sustained a minor facial injury and he was turned over to his parent's care.
The suspects — two teens from Severn and one from Baltimore — were charged as juveniles with robbery, assault and theft under $1,000. They were released to guardians. The other three suspects were described only as black males in their teens.
Anyone with information on the outstanding suspects may call police at 410-222-6155.
