Bethesda woman charged with fighting police in Target parking lot

Arundel County police officers arrested Bethesda woman who they said spit on them Thursday during a drug investigation in Glen Burnie.

Dana S. Heaton, 43, of the unit block of Pooks Hill Road in Bethesda is charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, resisting arrest and assault, police said.

About 7:30 p.m. Thursday, police said they saw Heaton inside a 2013 Nissan Altima with several suspected heroin capsules at a Target parking lot in the 6700 block of Ritchie Highway. Officers said the suspect tried to fight with them and then spit in their faces.

A search of the vehicle yielded 11 heroin capsules weighing 2.9 grams, police said.

Heaton does not have a lawyer listed in online court records.
