An Upper Marlboro man was arrested in connection with a string of robberies and thefts, Anne Arundel County police said Friday.

Edmond Jarrod Riggs, 35, of the 3800 block of Holloway Circle is being held without bail. He is charged with 35 counts of robbery, assault, handgun violations, and thefts from five incidents.

Police said two Glen Burnie restaurants were robbed on Nov. 10. The first was around 6:45 p.m. at a Pizza Boli's in the 300 block of Crain Highway North in Glen Burnie.

Around 8:15 p.m., the Wings N Things, in the 7800 block of Quarterfield Road in Glen Burnie, was robbed, police said. Later, after 9 p.m., a man attempted to rob the Food Lion in the 100 block of Crain Highway North in Glen Burnie.

Riggs also was charged with armed robbery of the BP gas station in the 8600 block of Veterans Highway in Millersville around 7 p.m. on Nov. 15, police said.

In all those cases, police said Riggs demanded money be placed in a plastic bag.

In addition to the commercial robberies, police said Riggs attempted to rob a woman on Nov. 9. The woman was leaving a rehabilitation center after visiting a family member in the 300 block of Hospital Drive in Glen Burnie when Riggs attempted to grab her purse at gunpoint.
