Anne Arundel County Fire Department officials say a fire in a vacant building in Glen Burnie on Monday resulted in no injuries, but caused an estimated $10,000 in damage.
At about 5:30 p.m., county fire officials received multiple 911 calls reporting a building fire in the 400 block of Crain Highway North.
Responding units saw fire from the second floor of the vacant two-story building, officials said, and elevated it to a second alarm, bringing some 50 firefighters to the scene. Officials said that because of unsafe conditions inside the building, firefighters fought the blaze from the outside. The fire was brought under control at 6:30 p.m., officials said.
As of Tuesday morning, fire officials said the cause of the fire was still under investigation. No injuries were suffered as a result of the incident..
