Linthicum man arrested for child porn; police also find counterfeit cash

Anne Arundel County police arrested a Linthicum man on child pornography charges Tuesday after finding more than 1,900 pictures and videos of child pornography at his home.

Police said they received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in May that someone living in Linthicum was trading child porn online.

Detectives pinpointed the address on Twin Oaks Road in Linthicum and searched the house, seizing several computers, phones and $1,680 in counterfeit money. Pictures and images were found, and analysts determined they were being shared with other people online, police said.

Police applied for charges against Stephen Edwards Evans, 48, of the 200 block of Twin Oaks Road, on Monday. He turned himself in Tuesday at the State Police Glen Burnie Barrack.

Evans is charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography, three counts of distribution of child pornography and one count of possession of forged currency.
