Brooklyn Park store robbed at knifepoint

A man robbed the Boost Mobile store in the 5000 block of Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park at knifepoint around noon on Wednesday, police say.

An employee told police a white man in a red hoodie and khaki cargo pants walked into the store just before noon and browsed the display cases for a few moments before pulling out a large knife and demanding cash from the register.

After the employee gave him the money, the suspect left the store heading south toward W. 11th Avenue.

Park Elementary School nearby was put on a modified lockdown while several Anne Arundel police teams searched the area, but the suspect was not found.

Police are asking anyone with information in the incident to report it by calling 410-222-3432.
