Anne Arundel County Executive Laura Neuman has appointed Christine Romans as acting director of the Department of Inspections and Permits.
Romans, who previously was assistant director in the Department of Public Works, replaces the previous acting director, Jim Pittman, who also normally works in the Department of Public Works.
Pittman will return to his job as deputy director of public works for waste management.
The position of inspections and permits director is one of several top positions in county government without a permanent appointee.
The positions of police chief, fire chief, central services officer and health officer are among the jobs filled by temporary appointees.
Neuman was appointed county executive in February after John R. Leopold resigned after being found guilty of misconduct in office.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
