Before she learns truth
Allison Butler, a Glen Burnie High School teacher, is moments from learning she is a first place prize winner. Butler thinks she is attending an assembly honoring her for for winning a $2,000 grant in the ING Unsung Heroes awards program. On left is Mamie Perkins, interim superintendent of Anne Arundel County Public Schools. During the assembly Chuck WIlliams, senior vice president at ING, announces she is the national winner of a $25,000 grant for her innovative teaching. Her program, called ¿Art at the Speed of Light,¿ combines the fundamentals of drawing and painting with the BioMedical Allied Health Magnet students¿ honors physics curriculum, creating a pilot course.
