Man rescued after fall down 300-foot Arnold slope

Emergency workers rescued a 69-year-old man who suffered life-threatening injuries after falling down a 300-foot slope in Arnold, the Anne Arundel County Fire Department said Saturday.

The unidentified man fell Friday afternoon from a tram behind a house in the 1300 block of Kinloch Circle and tumbled down a steep slope that ends beside the Severn River. County firefighters and special operations workers teamed up with a unit from Queen Anne's County to rescue him in under 30 minutes using ropes and a hauling system, officials said.

The man was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center. County police are investigating the cause of the fall.

At least one home on the upscale street has a private tram running on rails in a wooded area of the property, according to real estate listings.
