A former minister at an Essex church whose conviction for sexually abusing a child was overturned pleaded guilty Wednesday to a fourth-degree sex offense, according to Anne Arundel County prosecutors.
The conviction means that Enoch Jermaine Hill, 34, will be included on the state's sex offender registry. Hill, who had been an associate minister at the House of God, was accused by a boy who said he was 10 years old when Hill molested him in 2004 and 2005 at his home in Odenton
The 2007 conviction was overturned by a divided Court of Appeals. The majority found that county police improperly lured Hill into writing an apology to the boy, telling him that the child's family was not interested in a criminal prosecution. Hill was sentenced to one year in prison, which he has already served.
