A two-alarm blaze that started inside an Edgewater home left one person dead and another injured Saturday afternoon, according for an Anne Arundel County fire spokesman.
Firefighters were called at 1:35 p.m. to the 1300 block of Shore Drive where they found heavy smokes coming from a one-story house, said Division Chief Michael E. Cox.

Neighbors told fire crews there were still people trapped inside the home, he said. Firefighters searched the homes and found two victims. Cox did not know the age or gender of the victim who died. A woman in her late 60s was taken to the burn center at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center
for life-threatening injuries.
It took firefighters about 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze that started inside the home. About 60 firefighters from Anne Arundel County, Annapolis

Cox said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
