Pair arrested in Anne Arundel burglary, arson case

Two 23-year-old Anne Arundel County men were arrested Friday on burglary and arson charges after two businesses in Davidsonville were broken into and fires set inside, Anne Arundel County police said.

Police called to JAS Trucking on Patuxent River Road at 6 a.m. Friday morning found a fire set inside the warehouse and a forklift driven into a F-250 pickup. The same forklift was driven into a wall of the building.

Meanwhile, a smoldering fire and evidence of a break-in was discovered at the nearby Brandywine Sand and Gravel company, police said.

Firefighters extinguished both fires. Fire investigators put early damage estimates at more than $20,000.

Police arrested Kevin Nash of Gambrills and Gregory F. Michelsen of Davidsonville later that same morning, charging each with four counts of burglary, two counts of destruction, and one count of arson.
