Three people were injured in a boating accident in Glen Burnie on Tuesday afternoon when their boat struck a buoy marker, according to the Anne Arundel fire department.
Emergency crews were first called to the 1700 block of Marley Avenue shortly before 5:30 p.m. for a report of a boat striking the marker and people in the water, said Lt. Keith Hamilton, a fire department spokesman.
"The folks were thrown from the boat," Hamilton said.
Two were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, Hamilton said.
The third, a 37-year-old woman, was taken by land to Maryland Shock Trauma in serious condition, Hamilton said.
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources Police were investigating the incident, Hamilton said, but could not be reached for comment late Tuesday.
Hamilton said he had no further information.
