Tawes Garden & Shop

Volunteers are needed to help with a variety of gardening tasks, including planting, watering, weeding and mulching. Also needed are tour guides, particularly in April and May, to assist the teacher-naturalist with large groups. Year-round programs need chaperones for field trips as well as assistants for nature programs. Shopkeepers are needed for two-hour shifts on a weekly or bimonthly basis in the gift shop at the Maryland Department of Natural Resources in Annapolis. Historic London Town

Quiet Waters Park

Volunteers 15 and older are needed for a variety of tasks to support the operation of the park and events throughout the year. Information: 410-222-1777.

Arundel Public Library

The library seeks a volunteer, 16 or older, to assist with scanning a large archive of historical library photographs and clippings, uploading the images to Flickr and entering any data written on the photos. Accuracy and careful handling of delicate items are important, as is the ability to work independently. All work will take place at library headquarters, 5 Harry S. Truman Parkway in Annapolis. Annapolis Wine Expo

The Annapolis Wine Expo will be held from noon to 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, and volunteers are needed for each session. Speakers, Tutors, Achievement, Retention, Success (STARS) needs men and women to work as mentors and/or tutors to students ages 16 to 24. Maritime Museum

The museum needs volunteers to help with a variety of tasks, including archiving, membership, office support, buildings and ground, blogging, education programs, website content, environmental stewardship, data entry, lighthouse tours, oyster and fish tank, wooden boat crew and more. Volunteers are needed at the West Street Visitor Center and City Dock Booth to provide visitors with information. Help is also needed for computer data entry. Salvation Army

Volunteers are needed to drop off donations Mondays through Fridays for Salvation Army food pantries in Annapolis and Glen Burnie. Suggested items include nonperishable canned goods and boxed food; toiletries are welcome. Groups that hold food drives can make arrangements to have the food picked up. Information: 410-263-4091.
