Free sessions on annual enrollment for the Medicare Part D prescription program will be held at the county's senior activity centers through Oct. 13.

•Brooklyn Park Senior Activity Center, 202 Hammonds Lane, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Oct. 3.
•O'Malley Senior Activity Center, 1275 Odenton Road, Odenton, 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Oct. 4.
•South County Senior Activity Center, 27 Stepneys Lane, Edgewater, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Oct. 12.
•Pascal Senior Activity Center, 125 Dorsey Road, Glen Burnie, 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 13.

Donations are needed for the Annapolis Senior Activity Center's annual flea market being held Oct. 26-27 at the center, 119 S. Villa Ave. Donations can be dropped off at the center's front desk 8 a.m. to 4:40 p.m. Mondays-Fridays through Oct. 19. No furniture or clothing. Information: 410-222-1818.
Annapolis Senior Activity Center members can sign up for a trip Oct. 6 to Parade Land and Jubilee in the Shenandoah Valley, and to the Allenberry Dinner Theater in Boiling Springs, Pa., on Oct. 19. The Parade Land trip features floats and props used in presidential inaugurations, Rose Bowl parades and Macy's Thanksgiving Day parades. The tour will stop for lunch at the Johnny Appleseed Restaurant. The cost of the trip is $85. The O'Malley Senior Activity Center is sponsoring a trip to see the musical "Me and My Girl" at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theater in Lancaster, Pa., on Oct. 12. Volunteer grandparents The Foster Grandparents Program of the county Department of Aging and Disabilities seeks volunteer grandparents to mentor children with special needs. Volunteers serve 15 to 40 hours a week, providing mentoring, tutoring, advice and attention. Volunteers also teach life skills to children in special education classes and provide staffing for a homeless shelter, family support center and other agencies. Activities may include reading stories, listening, helping children feed themselves, setting the table, working with puzzles, and helping children learn colors, numbers and the alphabet. Volunteers must be income-eligible and at least 60 years old. Benefits include a tax-free stipend, paid training, vacation, sick leave, free transportation, lunch and a physical exam.
