Registration for fall classes offered by Anne Arundel Community College begins Aug. 1 at the county's seven senior activity centers. Classes begin the week of Oct. 1. Hot dog hoedown
Annapolis Senior Activity Center members can don their Western garb and enjoy a hot dog hoedown beginning at noon Wednesday, July 25, at the center, 119 S. Villa Ave. Tickets are $4 for two grilled hot dogs, chips, soda and a cookie. Music by WNAV's Bob Duckman. Information: 410-222-1818.
The Department of Aging and Disabilities has updated a booklet on community support groups. The booklet focuses on groups for caregiving, Alzheimer's disease, bereavement for adults and children, diabetes, brain injury, cancer, stroke, cardiac and pulmonary problems, Parkinson's, and bowel and urinary diversions. Nutrition information Staff and volunteers from Maryland Hunger Solutions will be at the center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 17. They will provide information about available nutrition assistance programs, pre-screen individuals to see whether they are eligible for aid and assist in applying on site for programs.
