Christianity seminar

A seminar on the basics of the Christian faith will be offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at Galilee Lutheran Church, 4652 Mountain Road in Pasadena. Seminar will cover the Ten Commandments, Apostles Creed, Lord's Prayer, Baptism, Communion, faith, the Bible and the church.

Participants will use Martin Luther's Small Catechism as a basic framework for the study and Pastor Hank Simon will be the spiritual leader. No one will be forced to talk and all materials will be provided. Event is open to the public and lunch will be provided. Child care available if requested by noon Wednesday, Feb. 15.

Pancake supper

The Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer will host its annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 7606 Quarterfield Road in Glen Burnie. Supper includes all you can eat pancakes, sausage, fruit and beverages. Cost is $5, $2.50 for children 6-10, and free for those 5 and younger. Proceeds to benefit the North County Emergency Outreach Network, with matching funds from Thrivent Financial.

Bible study

Greater Crofton Reformed Orthodox Presbyterian Church holds a weekly study class focusing on 2 Corinthians at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays at the Cross Roads School House, 1358 Millersville Road, Millersville. New pastor

The Rev. James Bishop Sr. has been appointed to Asbury Town Neck United Methodist Church, 429 Asbury Drive in Severna Park. For the past eight years, he has served as pastor of Goshen United Methodist Church in Gaithersburg. Worship services are at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Sundays. All are welcome.
