'Turkey Trot' Anne Arundel Community College's 24th annual 5K Turkey Trot, One-Mile Jaunt and Food Drive will be held Nov. 21 at Siegert Field on the Arnold campus, 101 College Parkway. Registration before Nov. 9 is $15 per person for the 5K and $10 for the one-mile jaunt; $20 and $15 after. Participants are asked to bring nonperishable food items to donate to the food pantry. 'Garden of Lights' Brookside Gardens' winter walk-through holiday lights display with more than one million twinkling LED lights shaped into original art forms of flowers, animals and other natural elements opens Friday, Nov. 23, and is on view through Jan. 6 at 1800 Glenallan Ave. in Wheaton. There will also be nightly musical performances as well as refreshments and shopping. Hours are 5:30 p.m.-9 p.m. Sundays-Thursdays; 5:30 p.m. -10 p.m. Fridays-Saturdays and until 9 p.m. New Year's Eve.
Admission is $20 per car/van Monday-Thursday, and $25 per car/van Friday-Sunday. Advance tickets are $20 and good for any night. Cash only at entrance; last car admitted half-hour before closing. Group tours must book and pay in advance.
