The SPCA's "Puppy Plunge" takes place from noon to 4 p.m. at the YMCA's Camp Letts in Edgewater. There will be food, music, canoeing, vendors, games, contests, children's activities and live music by the Biondi Brothers and the School of Rock. Dogs can compete in the "Ugly Dog" and the "Doggy Bikini" contests. They are also encouraged to take a plunge in the water, which will be held every hour. Auditions The Annapolis Chorale will hold auditions from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at St. Anne's Episcopal Church, 199 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis. While there are openings in all vocal sections, there is a particular need for tenors and basses. Singers should prepare a piece of their choice or they may sing part of "America the Beautiful." Fan appreciation weekend Kids Appreciation Night takes place as the Bowie Baysox take on the Harrisburg Senators at 6:35 p.m. at Prince George's Stadium. Fan Appreciation Day will be Sunday, Aug. 26, at 2:05 p.m. as the team concludes its series with Harrisburg. Both events include giveaways, with fireworks Saturday and a chance to meet the players before the game Sunday. The first 500 kids ages 3-12 on Saturday will receive a Matt Wieters poster, and on Sunday, the first 500 fans ages 13 and older will receive a 20th anniversary Baysox T-shirt. Festival The Kegs and Corks Beer and Wine Festival will be held Saturday and Sunday at Blob's Park, 8024 Max Blobs Park Road in Jessup. The event also features musical performances by the Kelly Bell Band, Sweet Leda, Appaloosa, Roadhouse Clams and others. Concert Swampcandy performs its brand of Mississippi blues from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, as Historic London Town and Gardens' summer concert series continues at 839 Londontown Road in Edgewater. Beach bash The Annapolis Maritime Museum will host its annual Boatyard Beach Bash from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 15 at the Annapolis Maritime Museum, 723 Second St. Among the musical guests are the John Frinzi Band, Coral Reefer steel guitar great Doyle Grisham, Jim Morris and James "Sunny Jim" White. Golf Friends of Broadneck Park will hold a first golf tournament fundraiser at Bay Hills Golf Club on Sept. 15. The purpose of the event is to raise funds to improve the playground at Broadneck Park on College Parkway in Annapolis. Tournament tickets are $85 and include goody bags, green fee and cart, a hot dog at registration, an unlimited beverage cart while on course, complimentary greens fee pass and a coupon for the pro shop. AACC gala Anne Arundel Community College will hold a gala Oct. 13 at the Westin Baltimore Washington Airport-BWI, 1110 Old Elkridge Landing Road in Linthicum. The "2012 Gala — Welcome to our Future" event will be an evening of dinner and dancing and will offer attendees a chance to meet AACC's sixth president, Dawn Lindsay.
