Crab feast The Rotary Club of Annapolis holds its annual crab feast from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis. The all-you-can-eat-and-drink affair includes Maryland crab soup, corn on the cob, beef barbecue, hot dogs, draft beer, sodas and water. A bake sale and cake raffle will be held. Festival Eastport United Methodist Church, 926 Bay Ridge Ave. in Annapolis, hold its annual Peach Festival from noon to 5 p.m. Menu includes fried and barbecued chicken, green beans, sliced tomatoes, potato salad, biscuits, pickled beets, peach cake, sliced peaches and ice cream. Cost is $15, $5 for children younger than 12. Peach pies, peach cakes, peach jellies and pickled beets will be for sale Friday, Aug. 5, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (no phone orders). Benefit The second annual Be Great 5K Run & Fun Walk to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County will take place Aug. 20 at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis. The run will kick off at 9:15 a.m., and every preregistered runner and walker will receive a T-shirt. Prizes will be awarded for the fastest runner in several age categories. Refreshments will be served after the race. Registration is $25 before Aug. 1, $30 after. Register online at bgcaa.org or on-site at the Red Maple Pavilion starting at 8:30 a.m. the day of the race. There is a "Couch Potato" category for anyone who wants to register and stay home.
Music festival The inaugural Silopanna Music Festival will take place at Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds in Crownsville on Aug. 27. Among the featured performers are Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Matt and Kim, Fitz and the Tantrums, Jimmie's Chicken Shack, All Mighty Senators, Grilled Lincolns and Harper Blynn. Benefit The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition's "5K Run/3K Walk to Break the Silence on Ovarian Cancer" will take place from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sept. 18 at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis. The run will be timed and awards for various age groups will be given. There will also be entertainment for adults and children and refreshments donated by local businesses.
