One-Act Play Festival

The Colonial Players' biennial One-Act Play Festival featuring eight directors and eight short plays runs July 19-29 at 108 East St. in Annapolis. Plays are divided into two slates, with four performances of each slate. Tickets are $10 for each performance, Thursday-Sunday. Auditions for comedy

The Colonial Players seeks three men, two women and a cat for its September production of the comedy "Bell, Book and Candle" that opens the troupe's 64th season. Auditions will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 15 and 7:30 p.m. July 16, at 2132 Renard Court in Annapolis. Information: 443-994-1795.

Theatrical production

Farmers' market coupons

Farmers' market coupons will be available during July at the Department of Aging and Disabilities, seven senior activity centers, two senior housing communities, and four nutrition sites. Coupons are for residents 60 and older who meet certain income guidelines. To be eligible, individuals may earn up to $1,722 per month and a two-person family can earn up to $2,332 per month. Please bring photo ID.

Coupons may be picked up from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays beginning July 16 at 2666 Riva Road, Suite 400 in Annapolis on a first-come, first-served basis until they are gone.

Coupons will also be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the centers:

Silopanna lineup

Cake, Citizen Cope, G. Love and Special Sauce, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, J. Reunion notices

A half-century has passed since Baltimore's City College graduated more than 600 young men in 1962, and a reunion is being planned for Oct. 13. Organizers are trying to contact every class member but haven't found everybody. Study of old age

The Department of Aging and Disabilities seeks people 80 and older who are mentally acute and in good health as possible candidates for the National Institute on Aging's study on longevity. Qualified participants will receive a complete physical examination, including tests of strength, stamina and mental acuity. Information: 855-804-3325.

Human relations panel

The county Human Relations Commission is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy. The 11-member commission is a volunteer body established to promote fairness, eliminate discrimination and harassment in public and private sectors, and advance understanding and effective communication among people of different backgrounds and cultures. Applicants must be at least 18, county residents and able to attend evening meetings on the third Wednesday of the month. Legal experience is preferred but not required. 'Operation Paperback'

This nonprofit organization collects used books nationwide and sends them to American troops deployed overseas. Since 1999, more than a million books have been shipped to military personnel around the world. Organizing the effort in this area is Sandy Marron of Annapolis. The Anne Arundel Volunteer Center has released a Youth Resource Guide, with information about nonprofit and faith-based organizations in the county. A free copy is at volunteerannearundel.org. Police Explorers

The Annapolis Police Department Law Enforcement Explorer Post 199 is accepting applications. The program is for those who have completed eighth grade and are 14 to 20 years old. It offers information on career activities. Meetings are from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at police headquarters, 199 Taylor Ave. in Annapolis. Tours of historic house

The Ann Arrundell County Historical Society has opened the historic Benson-Hammond House and North Browse and Buy Shoppe at Aviation Boulevard and Andover Road in Linthicum for the season. Tours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays. Group tours are by appointment.

Historical research

The Kuethe Library's Historical & Genealogical Research Center, 5 Crain Highway S.E., operated jointly by the historical society and the Anne Arundel Genealogical Society, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays all year. Information: 410-760-9679.
