Concert series

The Annapolis Maritime Museum's 13th annual Summertime Maritime Concert Series, featuring Chesapeake Bay musicians and artists from across the country, continues at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 27 with the Michael McHenry Tribe in Cap'n Herbie Sadler Waterman's Park, 723 Second St. Admission is free, but a $10 donation will be accepted. 'Taking Steps'

Parade and fireworks

The annual Annapolis Fourth of July parade takes place Thursday, July 4. Parade kicks off at 6:30 p.m. at Amos Garrett Boulevard and proceeds down West Street, around Church Circle and down Main Street. Fireworks begin at approximately 9:15 p.m. The display will be launched from a barge in the harbor and can be viewed from many locations. Information: 410-263-7973.

'Annie'

Pasadena Theatre Company presents the musical July 5-21 at the Chesapeake Arts Center, 194 Hammonds Lane in Brooklyn Park. Shows are at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays. Theater production

The Bowie Community Theatre presents "The Tale of the Allergist's Wife" July 12-27 at the Bowie Playhouse, 16500 White Marsh Park Drive. Visitors guide

The 2013 Visitors Guide by the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Conference and Visitors Bureau is now available. The 72-page, full-color guide contains information on things to do and see, events, dining, night life, accommodations, shopping and more. The Visitors Center is located at 26 West St. in Annapolis and is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The guides will also be distributed from the bureau's satellite information booth at City Dock. Register your bike

The Annapolis Police Department is sponsoring a bicycle registration program. The owner's name, address and phone number and the bike's serial number, manufacturer and color are recorded in the department's database. Registration is available to any Annapolis resident. To schedule an appointment, contact Cpl. Craig Medley at 410-268-9000, ext. 7225, or cemedley@annapolis.gov. Owners must bring their bikes when registering. Neighborhood associations should contact Medley if they want to hold a community registration.

'Operation Paperback'

This nonprofit organization collects used books nationwide and sends them to American troops deployed overseas. Since 1999, more than a million books have been shipped to military personnel around the world. Organizing the effort in this area is Sandy Marron of Annapolis. Fingerprinting

Fort Meade online aid

Fort Meade, in partnership with the Fort Meade Community Covenant Council, has launched a new website designed to help the community take advantage of resources in the region. For more information, go to http://www.ftmeade.army.mil/community.

Youth resource guide

The Anne Arundel Volunteer Center has released a youth resource guide, with information about nonprofit and faith-based organizations in the county. A free copy is at volunteerannearundel.org.
