The third annual Fort George G. Meade Military Spouse Job Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, at McGill Training Center, 8452 Zimborski Ave. on the post. Free arboretum admission
Adkins Arboretum will celebrate the American Public Gardens Association's fifth annual National Public Gardens Day by waiving admission fees Friday, May 10, at 12610 Eveland Road in Ridgely. Visitors can view and purchase native plants at the arboretum's nursery, view an exhibit by artists, take a self-guided audio or visual tour, explore the forest, wetland, meadows and gardens and learn about the link between native plants, land conservation and the Chesapeake Bay. The Bowie Baysox will host a Mother's Day brunch Sunday, May 12, at Prince George's Stadium as they take on the Erie SeaWolves. Game time is 2:05 p.m. Beginning at 12:30 p.m., fans can go into the outfield to play catch. Crab and ham dinner
St. James Parish will hold its annual crab cake and country ham spring dinner from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. May 18 at 5757 Solomons Island Road in Lothian. Crab cakes, country and honey-baked ham, potatoes au gratin, coleslaw, rolls and biscuits, beverages and pies will be available. Event includes a bake shop, garden shop, ice cream, flea market, antique cars, tours of the church and children's activities. Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer holds its annual Strawberry Festival from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 8 at 7606 Quarterfield Road in Glen Burnie. Rotary crab feast
The Rotary Club of Annapolis will hold its 68th annual crab feast from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 2 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis. The 2013 Visitors Guide by the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Conference and Visitors Bureau is now available. The 72-page, full-color guide contains information on things to do and see, events, dining, night life, accommodations, shopping and more. The Visitors Center is located at 26 West St. in Annapolis and is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The guides will also be distributed from the bureau's satellite information booth at City Dock. Register your bike
The Annapolis Police Department is sponsoring a bicycle registration program. The owner's name, address, phone number and the bike's serial number, manufacturer and color are recorded in the department's database. Registration is available to any Annapolis resident. Neighborhood associations should contact Medley if they want to hold a community registration.
