Man fatally shot in Glen Burnie on Monday night

A man was fatally shot in Glen Burnie on Monday night, Anne Arundel County Police said.

A friend drove Dantae Nashaun Simmons, 23, of Glen Burnie to Baltimore Washington Medical Center at about 8:10 p.m., police said. Simmons died at the hospital.

Detectives who went to the hospital were led to a crime scene in the 500 block of Short Curve Road, about 2 miles away.

Police interviewed witnesses and found evidence that led them to believe that the victim and suspect knew each other. Police declined to elaborate as the investigation continues.

“This was not a random act,” said Marc Limansky, a county police spokesman.

Police have not yet publicly identified a suspect.
