Due to the overnight snow, all Anne Arundel County Public Schools and offices are closed Friday. A "code red" is in effect for school system employees.
All Anne Arundel County government offices opened at 10 a.m. Employees are advised that the liberal leave policy is in effect and all emergency and essential personnel must report at their regularly scheduled times.
Anne Arundel County Senior Activity Centers are closed. Senior Center Plus and all Nutrition Sites are closed as well. All Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities Transportation services, with the exception of dialysis appointments, are cancelled.
County officials say the Department of Public Works worked through the night, and county roads are passable -- though some may be snow covered. Crews will continue clearing roads throughout the day.
In Annapolis, Mayor Mike Pantelides announced that Annapolis City government offices will be on a two-hour delay, for non-essential employee, thus opening at 10:30 a.m. Employees are permitted to use liberal leave but must contact their supervisors to coordinate staffing.
Also in Annapolis, the Emergency Operation Center has activated its Annapolis Call Center for all non-emergency calls. Annapolis residents with questions regarding closings, street plowing, or any other snow-related questions, can call 410-260-2211.
Both District and Circuit Courts in Anne Arundel opened at 10 a.m., the Naval Academy was on a four-hour delay, and Fort Meade opened with unscheduled leave and "telework" available.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
