Anne Arundel County police were investigating the armed robberies of two people by groups of four men over the weekend. Police said they do not believe the crimes are connected.

In the first incident, a man told police that he was knocked to the ground, kicked, cut and robbed by four men Sunday morning in Odenton. Police said the victim's necklace and cash were stolen when he was accosted in the 1300 block of Odenton Road.

The man went to Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, where he was treated and released.

Later that day, a man told police that four men robbed him of cash in the 5500 block of Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park, and one of the suspects cut him with a box cutter.

The attackers fled in a dark-colored sport utility vehicle toward Morgan Road in Brooklyn, the man told police. The victim was taken by a relative to Harbor Hospital in Baltimore, where he was treated and spoke with police shortly before 9 p.m.

Both robberies remain under investigation.
