Market House to stage grand opening Sept. 7

The Market House at City Dock in Annapolis, an iconic 18th century structure that has struggled to stay in business following Tropical Storm Isabel damage 10 years ago, will stage its grand reopening Sept. 7, city officials said Tuesday.

The facility will hold a soft opening this Friday for a half dozen food vendors, two months after Amsterdam Falafelshop opened there on June 20.

"This weekend we begin a new chapter for the Market House," said Annapolis Mayor Joshua J. Cohen in a prepared statement. "We took the time to get the right mix of vendors and make the necessary improvements so that it will be successful not just for the next year but for the long term."

Other tenants include Yellowfin Seafood & Oyster Bar, Hard Bean Café Carl's Corned Beef & Delicatessen and Midship Fresh Bar, city officials said.
