City of Annapolis Police are reporting a spate of thefts and attempted thefts from vehicles over the past several days. Numerous thefts from vehicles, as well as a vehicle theft, have been reported by police since the start of June.

Police report that on June 1 at 3 a.m. in the 400 block of Fox Hollow Lane, a resident saw three males enter a vehicle. The citizen yelled at the subjects, who ran away, leaving a bicycle and pair of sunglasses, police said. Police responded, and it was determined that nothing was taken.

Later, at 3:40 a.m., an officer driving through the unit block of Southgate Avenue saw a vehicle with the interior lights on. The vehicle was unlocked and the glove compartment and center console had been opened, police said. The vehicle owner said nothing was missing from that vehicle, either.

That same night, sometime between midnight and 9 a.m. in the Hunt Meadow area in the unit block of Ashford Court, police reported that a set of iPod headphones were stolen from an unlocked vehicle, according to police reports. Officers checked the area – including the 300 block of Riding Ridge Road and the unit block of Carriage Run Road – and discovered four more unlocked vehicles had been entered. Other items taken include money, gift cards and sunglasses.

Police also reported two additional incidents may have occurred on June 1: Sometime between June 1 and June 2, the cargo doors to a work truck were pried open and more than $1,600 worth of Makita power tools, two tanks of Freon, electronic scales and a flange tool were stolen; and sometime between June 1 and June 3 in the 300 block of Riding Ridge Road, a GPS unit was stolen from a vehicle that apparently had been unlocked, police said.

Also on June 1 or June 2, a silver 2001 Honda Civic with unknown dealer tags was stolen from the unit block of Boxwood Road, police said.

On June 3, at 1 a.m., a resident in the 1100 block of Primrose Road reported a loud noise and saw four subjects running away from a vehicle. Police were called, and discovered that a yellow purse had been stolen from the front passenger seat of a vehicle. The passenger window of the vehicle was broken with a broomstick, police said.

Also on June 3, sometime between midnight and 1:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Primrose Court, a GPS unit and pair of sunglasses were stolen from an unlocked vehicle, police said.

Anyone with information on these incidents may call the Annapolis Police Department Tip Line at 410-280-CLUE (2583).
