Three in stolen car arrested in Arundel after not stopping for police

Three people in a stolen car were followed by police officers for 10 miles through Anne Arundel County before the car spun out and they tried to run away, police said.

Annapolis police said officers saw the stolen car, a 2008 Acura TL, driving near MD Route 665 near Godspeed Way shortly before 8 p.m. and followed it to Interstate 97 just beyond MD Route 50, where they attempted to pull the car over. Instead, the driver fled along I-97 before losing control and spinning out near MD Route 3.

The three people in the car tried to run away but were arrested and charged with car theft, police said. They were identified as Alexander Jerome, 22, Rodell Pinckney, 19, and a 17-year-old boy, all of Annapolis. Online court records were unavailable for Jerome and it could not be determined if he had an attorney. Pinckney, who had no attorney listed in court records, was held on an outstanding warrant in a separate case. The 17-year-old was given a citation and released to his guardian, police said.
