A pedestrian was struck by a car along Route 50 in Annapolis on Sunday night, sustaining life-threatening injuries, according to fire and police officials.

Emergency personnel responded to the ramp from eastbound Route 50 onto Rowe Boulevard about 8:37 p.m. and found the severely injured 33-year-old man, and transported him to Anne Arundel Medical Center, said Chief Michael Cox, an Anne Arundel County Fire Department spokesman, and a dispatcher at the Maryland State Police Glen Burnie Barrack.

The man was in critical condition late Sunday, state police said.

No further information was immediately available late Sunday, police said.
