3 men arrested after fight with Annapolis mall security

Three men were arrested after fighting with security officers at the Westfield Annapolis Mall, during which one of them pulled out a knife, according to Anne Arundel County police.

Zackery Staley, 19, of the 3600 block of Pocon Place in Beltsville; Delane Newman, 19, of the 5900 block of Shepherd Ln. in Lanham; and Jayman Sloan, 18, of the 6300 Gabrielle St. in Bowie ran from the mall after the brawl but were arrested nearby when county police responded, a police news release said.

The fight broke out after the three were asked to leave for disorderly behavior, the release said. Mall security officers were able to take the weapon before the group left the mall, the release said.

Staley was charged with two counts of second-degree assault and possession of marijuana. Newman was charged with two counts of second-degree assault. Sloan was charged with two counts of second-degree assault and theft less than $100.
