Anne Arundel County's jail superintendent will receive a leadership award from the Middle Atlantic States Correctional Association, a regional organization for people who work in corrections and related fields.
Terry Kokolis will receive the Carl Robinson award from the Middle Atlantic States Correctional Association, County Executive Laura Neuman said Thursday. The award is named for Connecticut's warden and recognizes leadership and contributions in the corrections field. Kokolis operates the county's two detention facilities, one in Annapolis, the other in Glen Burnie.
"Terry is a hands-on leader who brings professionalism and compassion to his job, which is not always easy given the challenging circumstances he faces on a daily basis," Neuman said in a statement.
